Wisdom is very deep.

There are many subtle points in life. Take, for instance, a crab. Its eyes are located on the outside, and they are always looking here and there. The mind and maya are also located on the outside, and they too are always looking here and there. The mind and maya do not go on the right path. Ignorance does not walk straight.

The crab has ten legs; the two front legs, its claws, act like hands. The ten legs represent the ten sins.1 These ten sins do not go straight, padapadapadapada, bridabridabridabrida. Their eyes are on the outside, and they look here and there, this way and that way. They cannot see inside but go to many different outer sections and catch hold of those sections.

The ten sins cannot go straight since they do not live on the inside. One who has this kind of life will have many accidents.

In this way, man’s life is like that of a crab. He does not look inside, he just looks outside with the eye of maya, and because of this, he does not go on the true path, the right path. His entire life is difficult; he goes here, he goes there, back and forth, here and there. His time is wasted, and in the end he dies.

The true path is short, while the path of the ten sins zigzags back and forth, here and there, off to one side, off to the other side, then back again. Ten, ten, ten, ten!—the ten do not go straight, they go round and round. Finally, man’s time is over. This is not the true path, it is the path of the mind. We have to think about this.

A human being must find the path that is subtle. The ten sins are ten legs, and man dies because of these, he dies in sin. But the life of a human being is very subtle, it has only one point. His life is on the inside, not like the life of a crab. The true path is inside.

There is no true path for a person who is like a scorpion or a crab. That person has a certain kind of poison within him, and his time will be wasted. If you try to keep a crab in one place, it will not stay there; it will immediately start scurrying, kirakirakirakirida. Similarly, a person who has doubt and suspicion, who has no wisdom, who is ignorant, will not go on the good path, he will scurry back and forth in all directions.

Even a snake, if it is comfortable, will stay in one place; it will coil and remain there. But the crab of the ten sins and the ignorant mind cannot stay in one place. The ten sins are unable to be good, they just go here and there, kirakirakirakirida. The mind is also like this. It wastes time; it does not live within the truth. It goes in all directions and finally dies. Please think about this. This is how man is living his life. His eyes are always looking at what is on the outside. As a result, he does not live within the truth. He does not go on the straight path, he just scurries back and forth. This is how the world is.

But you must study wisdom. Life is very subtle. Truth and wisdom are very deep. God, His rahmah—His grace—and peace are even deeper. And peace is God, it is heaven. That is extremely deep. Please think about this.

Do not look with the eyes of a crab and do its work. Those eyes look only at the outside. This is not the true path. You must look at each point with wisdom. Then it will be good. Is that not right? Right? Right?

Shari, very well, please think about this. Thank you.

A baby’s mind is clear. That area is God’s area, it is a clear place of love and truth. It does not have the world in it. It is God’s kingdom. The baby mind understands the love of that kingdom.

Later, however, that baby mind changes and falls into maya, and as it grows up, it goes on the wrong path. It acquires a monkey mind that is the hellboard of maya, arrogance, karma, the “I” and the “you,” jealousy, envy, vengeance, trickery, deceit, conceit, backbiting, and self-business. So that is hell. Hell. That is hell! What lives in hell does not know God or truth. Snakes, centipedes, lions, monkeys, cows, bulls, bears, scorpions—everything lives there. That is not a clear place, it is hell. So what is to be done?

The mind does not know God, it does not know truth, it does not know goodness, it does not know justice, it does not know integrity, and it does not know conscience. As a result, it falls into maya, into hell, where there are worms, germs, insects, viruses, and bacteria. It cannot know God.

But the baby mind knows God, it knows the truth. The baby’s heart is clear, it is God’s house. We should think about this.

If you acquire the heart of a baby, you will know God, and your heart will be clear. God is the Father, and you will know Him. We are still learning about God, but we do not know Him yet.

Do you understand?

How does the fragrance come within a flower?

It is there naturally. The fragrance develops within the seed.

How does the honey come?

Honey exists as a point within a flower, but not everything knows it is there. The flower does not eat the honey, God does not eat it, and viruses do not eat it. It is the honeybee and the honeysucker2 that come to take that honey. They know about this. So how did that honey come to be there? It is just naturally there. The honey and fragrance develop within the flower, but even though they are naturally there, the viruses, insects, and germs do not know this. It is the honeybee and the honeysucker that know this.

What is original—heaven, God, and the good qualities—must develop within your heart. That beauty must come, and when it comes, the fragrance of God will come. Honey develops from the fragrance of the original anma, the soul. If the heart is clean,3 the honey will come. That honey is the taste of wisdom. It is the wisdom of God, the wisdom of truth, and as soon as it develops, whoever needs it will come there. But not everyone will know about that truth, about that honey, and about that taste.

All kinds of insects will circle and buzz around a flower, eeeeeeee, ooowahoooowahh, kikikikikikee, eeeeeeee, and then they will leave. Birds, winged creatures, and beetles will also come there, eeeeeeee, ooo-ooo-ooohh, but they too will not take anything from that flower. They might just sit there or circle around it, but then they will leave. It is the honeybee and the honeysucker that will go to the flower, keekeekeekeekee, and extract the honey.

This is how truth is. In order to understand the taste of truth, you must be like the honeybee and the honeysucker. Just as they extract the nectar from a flower, you must extract the truth from the Shaikh. Only then can you get the taste and understand the point. You can understand the meaning and extract it. Otherwise, you are just circling around, kidakidakidakidacorra, or you are just sitting there, kidakidakidakidacorra. You are not getting the point. That taste is not coming and that subtlety is not coming. You are just circling around the flower.

Many people are like this; many people who come to study wisdom from the Shaikh are like this. They just circle around him, they do not get the point—that natural sweetness, that natural wisdom, that natural scent, and that natural fragrance. They circle round and round him and then leave. They are like crabs and scorpions.

You must be like the honeysucker and the honeybee that know how to extract the nectar. When you are with the Shaikh, you must be able to take the point that is there. Instead of doing this, you are just circling around him. In America they are circling, looking here and there, and making all of those sounds, kee-eeuooohahah. What is the use of being like that? They are not taking the point that is within.

There are a lot of people like this. Too many! The majority are like this. There are very few people who search for the honey, remain there, and drink that honey, that point of wisdom.

Therefore, those who truly study and understand wisdom will be like the honeybee. They will search, search, search, and search, and when they find the flower, they will sit on it and collect the honey of truth and the good qualities. That honey is gnanam, wisdom. They will sit on that flower and extract the honey with those good qualities. That will be very tasty.

A person who is truly studying wisdom is a clever person, and he will be able to get the taste of wisdom. But one who is not in this state will not know that taste. Eee-eee-eeeeh, so many beetles and insects come, but in the end they die. They die in the same way that birds fall and die as a result of being shot with a gun. You must think about this. Do you understand, my son? You need to find that point.

The good qualities, the qualities of truth are the honey, the original honey, the taste. The taste is wisdom. The flower is faith, certitude, and determination—iman. The fragrance is God. This will be known only...
